Our Next Events

Our quiz night on the 3rd January was a great success, with over £500 being raised towards the cost of our new Village Centre. We’ve already raised around £5000 in the last few months, but we need more, as we aim to start building in the coming Summer. Please help us and support our fundraising events, there’ll be more of them coming up soon. Meanwhile, if you would like to help in other ways, by joining the Village Centre Lottery, or buying bricks or roof tiles for the new building, you can find all the necessary information on our Fundraising page on the main website. Thanks!

Looking a little further ahead, you’ll find the posters for both our January and February Village Cinema Screenings below. Don’t miss them.

More Fundraising Events

The Fashion Parade fundraiser held on Friday 18th November was a great success and a big thank you to everyone involved. We still need to push ahead with raising the necessary funds to make our new Village Centre reality, so there are more events on the horizon where you can help, and have a great evening too!

A cottage pie supper before the film is included in the ticket price of £10, so don’t miss this festive event. Tickets must be pre-bought, from the Parish Council Office, or from Tom Morris 01485 541450, or Vanessa Blyth 01485 544866, or Sue Payne 01485 540538.

Poster for New Year QuizJust edging into the New Year, we will be holding a fundraising quiz evening at 7.30pm on Tuesday 3rd January. Tickets are £3 on the door, or why not make a team with a maximum of six quizzers for £15. Refreshments will be available.

Both these events are held in St Nicholas Church Hall, opposite St Nicholas church.

Fund Raising Parade

Fund-raising for the new Dersingham Village Centre is in full swing.  The latest event was a fashion parade, hosted by the ladies’ fashion shop Allez Chic, of Castle Rising. It was a great success, well attended and some lovely outfits modelled by some lovely ladies! You can see a few photos here.

Village Cinema July Screening

poster for screening of the film west side storyOur July screening at the Dersingham Village Cinema will be West Side Story, a classic tale of romance and tragedy, loosely based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, but set in the gritty surroundings of 1950’s New York. It’s certainly one of the great musical films of the 20th Century and one not to be missed.

Friday 29th July, doors open at 6.45pm for a 7.30pm start. Tickets  at £5 are available on the door and include one free drink. All profits from the Village Cinema go to raise funds for the new Village Centre.

Please note that West Side Story replaces the planned screening of Eddie the Eagle.

Fundraising Evening

Unfortunately the talk by David Reeve on the 21st July has had to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. If you have already bought tickets please ask at the Parish Council office for a refund. Our apologies for any inconvenience.

The next screening at the Village Cinema

poster for film titled a royal night outOur popular screenings of films that may not be the very latest releases, but they are ones that many of you have asked for, continue on Friday 24th June 2016. 7.30pm at St Nicholas Church Hall, doors open 6.45pm.

The film is A Royal Night Out, which is described as a grown up fairy tale for those whose hearts go pitter-pat at the mere mention of anything to do with the Royal Family! On V.E. Day in 1945, as peace extends across Europe, Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret are allowed out to join the celebrations. It is a night full of excitement, danger and the first flutters of romance.

As with all Village Cinema events, any profit will go to the fund for the new Dersingham Village Centre.
