We’ve got a couple of great fundraising events coming up soon and we really need your support. There is still a way to go to raise all the money we need in order to fully equip the new Centre, so please help by supporting these events.
First up is the Dersingham Community Fun Day on Sunday 10th June, from 12noon. A Fun Dog Show (at 1pm), games, music, bouncy castles, stalls, BBQ and refreshments are all on offer, plus the DVCA’s own stall. Here you will find prize winning games and a raffle, with all the proceeds going to the new Village Centre. Play “Hunt the Wine” and win a bottle of something nice to have with dinner tonight!
Later in June the DVCA will be hosting a special coffee morning when we’re hoping that not only will you enjoy a cup of coffee, but you’ll buy one or more cups, saucers, plates etc. We need at least one hundred sets of, well everything really, so that the new hall can cater for functions large and small. The coffee morning will be in St Nicholas Church on Saturday 23rd June 10.00am – 12.00noon.
There’s more information on the posters you can see here, so thank you in advance for all your support!
The 2018 Annual General Meeting of the Dersingham Village Centre Association will be held at Dersingham Social Club, Lynn Rd, at 6.00pm on Tuesday 29th May.
Anyone interested in the new Village Centre is welcome to attend, you can join the DVCA on the spot. Membership is free and available to all Dersingham residents over the age of 18. This is an opportunity to hear progress reports on the Centre and to raise any points that concern you.
The film screening will take place after the AGM at the usual time of 7.30pm. The film this month is Breathe, the story of a young man’s fight against polio.
On Tuesday 29th May our film will be Breathe, starring Claire Foy and Andrew Garfield, who plays Robin Cavendish, a man with his whole life ahead of him before he is cruelly paralysed by polio at the age of 28. Given only three months to live, he defies medical experts by becoming one of the longest-living polio survivors in Great Britain.
Screenings are currently held in Dersingham Social Club, Lynn Rd. Tickets £5 on the door, including tea or coffee. Other drinks, including wine and beer, available to buy. Doors open at 6.45pm and the screening begins at 7.30pm.
The May draw of our Dersingham Village Centre Lottery was made last Tuesday 1st May at the Parish Council office.
1st prize number 69 winning £36.00
2nd prize number 71 winning £24.00
3rd prize number 7 winning £12.00
The prizewinning numbers from all draws can also be found on our Facebook page. Search for Dersingham Village Centre Association.
The lottery is still a very important part of our fundraising efforts. Despite several successful grant applications, more money will still be needed to complete the fitting out of the new hall, so do please keep helping us!
