Dersingham Open Gardens and Art Trail

Our annual Open Gardens and Art Trail event will take place over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend. Sunday and Monday 26th – 27th May, 11.00am – 5.00pm each day.

This year over fifteen gardens will be open and there will be nine art studio locations. Many of the artists will be opening their gardens too, so you can have two treats at one location!

As an added bonus this year, there will be a Gardeners’ Forum in the Village Centre, at 2.00pm on Sunday 26th. Hear advice from experts of a myriad of garden-related topics, such as tree surgery, ponds, lawn care, and garden design. Each talk will last about ten minutes, with an opportunity for ‘Q&A’ afterwards. On Monday, also at 2.00pm, a floral demonstration is planned.

Tickets for the event cost £5 on the day from the Village Centre, or £4 in advance from Dersingham Post Office. Either way, you will want to start from the Village Centre in Manor Road where you will collect your programme and map of the locations. Refreshments will be available in the Centre and at several individual gardens.

Fingers crossed for good weather, it looks as if it’s going to be another great event!

Call for Stalls – Midsummer Fair

Would you like to sell your wares at the Dersingham Village Centre Midsummer Fair? If so, the organisers are looking for unusual and quirky stalls to add to those already registered. The date is Saturday 29th June. Alex Dixon, who is organising the fair says:

“We have a good selection of stalls booked, varying from gifts, local artists, furniture painting demos, handmade cards, to glitter tattoos and children’s items . We also have cupcakes and Indian snacks and chilled takeaways.
There is still space for a few more stalls though, the more unusual the better.”
If you are interested please contact Alex Dixon 07981 294052 email info@fadetogreynorfolk.co.uk

A Great Day for Antiques!

Our Antiques or Collectables day was a great success, as you can see from the photos of the owners waiting to have their treasures valued! Around £600 was raised for the two charities, the RNLI and East Anglian Air Ambulance, so a big thank you to everyone involved, including of course TV’s Flog It and Bargain Hunt experts Thomas Plant and Caroline Hawley, who were on hand to give expert advice.

Lottery results May 2019

There are three prize winners each month in our Village Centre fundraising lottery and you might be one of them! But you have to be in it to win it, so if you’re not already subscribing to our fundraising Lottery, please go to the fundraising page on our website and sign up. It’s really important to keep the money rolling in, because the Centre costs a substantial amount to run and there are still many additions and improvements that we want to make, for the benefit of all users.

The May draw took place in the Dersingham Village Centre on Tuesday 7th May 2019, at our popular Community Lunch. The winning numbers were:

1st prize, number 35 winning £30.75
2nd prize, number 55 winning £20.50
3rd prize, number 10 winning £10.25
