After a lengthy break caused by the pandemic we are pleased to say that film screenings in the Village Centre will recommence on Tuesday 28th September. Our first film is The Keeper (15), the story of how a German prisoner of war and a young English woman overcame prejudice, personal tragedy and public hostility as Word War II came to an end.
The film will commence at 7.30pm and tickets are available on the door, priced at £6 with under 16s £3. Entry includes tea, coffee or squash and as a special reopening treat – a glass of fizz!
Yvonne Fuller BEM will be running a series of flower arranging workshops during the autumn, commencing with a demonstration/taster evening on Wednesday 15th September at 7.00pm. This will be followed by seven sessions on alternate Wednesdays, from 22nd September to 22nd December.
The taster evening costs £5 and the following course costs £20 for registration plus £5 per session. If you sign up on the evening of the taster session your registration fee will be discounted to £17.
Yvonne says “it will be fun while you learn” so why not come along to the demonstration/taster and sign up!
Every month there’s a chance to win a Village Centre Lottery prize. The fixed costs of the Centre are quite considerable, so your contributions are especially welcome, but we do need more players. If you know anyone who would like to join the lottery then you’ll be giving us a big helping hand. It costs just £5 per month and the more players the bigger the prize fund. Anyone can join the lottery draw online by visiting our Village Centre Fundraising page Thank you for your support!
This month’s draw was made on Thursday 9th September 2021. The results are: First prize, number 49 winning £23.25. Second prize number 29 winning £15.50 and third prize number 14 winning £7.75.
