Tuesday 26th November – our usual last Tuesday in the month film screening. The November film will be “Green Book”, the story of a black concert pianist making a tour of the Deep South, chauffeured by an Italian-American driver and bodyguard. There are moments of high comedy but this is also a poignant tale of life in the segregated society of 1960s America. Superbly acted and highly recommended.

Tickets £5 on the door, including refreshments. Doors open 7.00pm.

Village Voice Live, the Story of Gin

The next of our regular monthly talks will be this coming Tuesday the 12th November.  It’s a talk with a difference because it will be given by local distiller Jason Crown. Jason runs WhataHoot gin distillery and he will be bringing some samples for tasting! However, he will also be talking about the history of gin and how it’s made. If you enjoy the tasting there will be gin to buy, so if you like a G&T it might be time to stock up for Christmas. Cheers! The talk will begin at 7.30pm and tickets cost £5 on the door. There will be an interval when tea, coffee and cake will be served and a prize raffle will be drawn. Your refreshments and raffle are included in the ticket price. Poster for Village Voice Live

November Draw of the Village Centre Lottery

image of lottery drawFirstly, a big thank you to all those supporting our fundraising through the Village Centre Lottery. Every month there’s the chance to win a cash prize and to know that you are helping the Centre become an even better resource for the community.

There is much more that still needs to be done. More tables and chairs, improved audio-visual equipment, better kitchen facilities for our community lunches and other events, the list goes on.  A building like the Village Centre always needs something doing to it – redecorating, bumper strips to stop chairs damaging the walls, as soon as something gets ticked off the list, something else goes on the bottom!

So, please help us by continuing to support the Lottery and by joining if you haven’t already. All the information can be found on our website Fundraising page, where there’s a Subscribe button which let’s you set up an online payment of £5 per month. Or, there are links to a form which you can print off and post or take to the Centre. We really do need you!

Meanwhile, the most recent draw of Lottery prizewinners was made on Tuesday 5th November at our popular community lunch. Winners are as follows:

First prize, number 41 winning £29.25. Second prize number 29 winning £19.50 and third prize number 14 winning £9.75. Congratulations to the lucky prize winners. Subscribe to our Lottery and you could join those winners, plus you’ll be giving us a big helping hand. Thank you!

The Choir That Rocks!

The famous Rock Choir are coming to the Village Centre and they’re coming soon, on Sunday 17th November at 2.30pm. Singing Pop, Rock and other Chart Hits the choir will be raising money for the Park House Companions charity, which raises funds to help disabled people enjoy a holiday at Park House, Sandringham.

Help this worthy cause and enjoy a terrific concert! Tickets are £7.50 and you can get them by emailing parkhousecompanions@gmail.com
