Chalk Painting with Alex Dixon

Alex Dixon is starting a series of workshops which will teach you how to use chalk paints on furniture or indeed any other item. The next session is on Saturday 3rd August at 10.00am – 2.00pm, in the Garden Room at the Village Centre. All the details are below, please contact Alex to book or if you need more information. Phone 07981 294092, or email: info@fadetogreynorfolk.co.uk You can also find Alex on Facebook at FadetoGreyNorfolk or go to her website http://fadetogreynorfolk.co.uk

Session times: The session runs between 10am – 2pm, but you can come when you want and stay as long as you want between these times. This means you can bring whatever size piece you would like with you from a picture frame, ornament or mirror up to a larger piece of furniture. Obviously you may not finish a larger piece within the timescale, but you can either come back and finish on another session or take it home to complete. You should have learnt enough of the techniques to be able to do that and extra paint will be available to purchase.

These sessions are on a first-come first-served basis, so pre-booking is advised but not essential. A small deposit will secure you a space.

Cost: The cost is £16 per session which includes a 150ml pot of chalk paint in the colour of your choice. This would be enough to cover a piece of furniture about the size of a bedside cabinet or coffee table.

You can either bring your own project or piece of furniture, or we will have a selection of crates, caddies, magazine racks, wooden ducks, bunting etc that you can purchase. There will also be a variety of stencils crackle glaze and napkins available if you’d like to have a go at decoupage or stencilling.

What to Bring: All other equipment such as brushes, aprons, sandpaper etc will be provided, but please wear old clothes, or something that wouldn’t stress you out too much if you got paint on it as you may get a little messy!
