Carols Update

An update to our recent post about carol singing at 5pm this Tuesday 20th December. Don’t worry, it’s still going ahead but will now be an indoor event, so please make your way in through the main Centre entrance. We look forward to welcoming you.

To help the vocals there will be light refreshments provided. The event is free but a donation to the Centre would be appreciated. Merry Christmas!

Carols at the Village Centre

Christmas is coming and it wouldn’t be complete without singing a few carols! Once again we invite you to Christmas Carols at the Village Centre  at 5pm on Tuesday 20th December. This will be an outdoor event, so dress warmly, although if the weather is too wintery then we will move into the Centre building. There will be musicians and singers, as before, but also the opportunity for you to sing along to all those well known traditional tunes.

To help the vocals there will be light refreshments provided. The event is free but a donation to the Centre would be appreciated. Merry Christmas!

December Lottery Draw

lottery thumbnailEvery month there’s a chance to win a Village Centre Lottery prize. By taking part in the Lottery you directly help the Centre with both day-to-day running expenses and with  our rolling programme of updating and improving the furniture and equipment of the Centre. Of course, we would love to have more players so that the Centre gets even more help.

This month’s draw was made on Tuesday 6th December 2022. The results are: First prize, number 17 winning £24.00. Second prize number 13 winning £16.00 and third prize number 25 winning £8.00.

If you know anyone who would like to join the lottery then you’ll be giving us a big helping hand. It costs just £5 per month and the more players the bigger the prize fund. Anyone can join the lottery draw online by visiting our Village Centre Fundraising page

Thank you for your support in 2022, a very Merry Christmas to you all and please continue to support us in 2023!

Village Voice Live talks

village centre logoA big thank you to everyone who supported our recent Village Voice Live event, which was a fascinating talk by Dr Paul Richards about the Port of King’s Lynn, Past and Present. Over forty people attended, which made it a very successful evening.

The Trustees of the Village Centre have been thinking about the future of Village Voice Live, which has suffered from a lack of support since the event restarted after the various lockdowns. The talks, which have been running for over fifteen years, will be taking a break now, but they could return if there is enough public support. We welcome your views and any suggestions for new speakers or topics.

If you want to have your say about Village Voice Live, you can contact us by email at contact@dersinghamvillagecentre.org.uk or you can reach us on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/dersinghamvillagecentre.org.uk

If there is enough interest we will hope to organise some more talks either later this year or early in 2023. Meanwhile we take this opportunity to thank Parish Councillor Tony Bubb, who initiated Village Voice Live and has been the driving force behind it over many years!
